Amblyopia - Lazy Eye Care Atlanta
Amblyopia or lazy eye affects roughly 3% of the population. Amblyopia is caused by poor communication between the brain and both of the eyes. The brain will "prefer" one eye over the other and the muscles used to control the eye movement of the less dominant eye are no longer in use. This causes the eye to wonder. The most common remedy used is putting a patch over the dominant eye and forcing the lazy eye to work. Poor depth perception, reduced sensitivity to motion, poor spacial acuity, and low sensitivity to contrast are some of the visual losses due to Amblyopia. For assistance with Amblyopia or other eye care needs call our vision practice today.
